2021 AOI Forum and Exhibition: Development of an Intelligent Shoe Stamping Machine with Image Positioning

In recent years, shoe manufacturers have been moving toward automated production. However, to meet the diverse demands of the market, the production side must supply various types of shoes, with potential differences in structure and soles. This presents a significant challenge in transforming traditional shoemaking processes into automated ones.

New Yu Ming has been continuously assisting shoe manufacturers in automation and shared one of its development cases at the 2021 AOI Forum. In the shoemaking process, there is a stamping stage. We use visual recognition combined with a stamping mechanism to compensate in real-time for any misalignment caused during the placement of the item to be stamped. The stamping point can be defined within the contour of the label logo on the item, allowing for feature stamping and adjustments according to the stamping conditions. This approach meets the needs of small-batch, diverse sample customization in real-time.

Through testing, this development concept has proven to be suitable for small-batch, diverse shoe sample development. In addition to human-machine integration, the machine features two major innovations: the “Design and Development of an Automatic Positioning Stamping Machine Structure” and the “Design and Development of an Intelligent Image Compensation Module.” Together with the “Built-in Automated Arm Design and Development,” the machine achieves full automation, easily connecting with AGV unmanned transport vehicles. This makes it easier for customers to meet the needs of automated factories and serves as a crucial technology for future intelligent shoemaking processes.
